Re: London 2 Brighton 2008

Congratulations to everyone that made it down to Brighton this year.

I still get a big smile on my face every time I remember going down those hills in years past. About the biggest adrenalin rush I've ever had.

Re: London 2 Brighton 2008

I will do it again this year. I want to do it quickly and go under 4 hours. Still upset I got a better time than you? I've been thinking about it and I'm not sure I'm going to do this this year. I don't really have enough skating miles under my belt this year (although that didn't really stop me la...

Skates, marshal's t-shirt and hi-vis are all sitting in the corner of my office.

Bring it on.

Re: Commuter Skating - Road or Pavement?

When I used to skate to the office, I would primarily use the road only hopping onto the pavement briefly when necessary for safety. Rush hour drivers tend to be in a bad mood, but generally move relatively slowly and predictably. I would be more worried about cyclists than cars when skating on the ...

Ugly

I just logged in and Serpentine Road looks really ugly now.

I thought that I should report this problem here so that you can fix it.

A.R.S.E. would be a great name for a skaters' association. I'm almost tempted to attend the first meeting and orchestrate a name change vote.

You could insist that it should be pronouced "AH-C" with a posh accent and get all faux-peeved with anyone that pronounces it wrong.

Ouch. I hope it heals soon Marty.

Was it a bad break? Do you have pins? and most importantly did you get the morphine and cute nurses treatment or just the usual grimness that is most of the NHS?

I don't think Madahahahahahahaha is complaining about the call (which was spot on by all accounts) but about the fact that there was no-one at the starting actually telling people that the skate was off. Whilst I (as a one-time marshall who will hopefully find time to do it again next year) would mu...

I think Jason once told me that all the people who are actually good at skating never had lessons. So that proves, scientifically, that lessons are bad for you, no? It might also be than nearly all of the people who are actually good at skating have been skating for 5+ years, and that when they sta...
