Re: K2 Athena Alu

We've just bought new fitness skates for my girlfriend - K2 Athena Alu from the 2007 collection. Very nice (I dare to say beautiful...) skates for women, very comfortable and what I like probably most is the very short frame - almost as short as possible for 80mm wheels, about 250mm (as opposed to ...

I've retired my The Rails and got a Mission HE500. http://ec3.images-amazon.com/images/P/B000FJQBWC.01-A1IB6ZSJX5ILW4._AA280_SCLZZZZZZZ_V52703402_.jpg I would have bought a pair of Powerslide Cell II's, but here in Brazil they don't sell it my size... (9) :( sad! You could have tried to get the...

Re: Deemax 2

Just wondering if you gave the Deemax 2's enough time for the liner to "pack out" My Deemax 3's were very tight at first; I thought I had bought them too small. After about 3 months of use and enduring some pain, they were perfect. You probably already know this but when standing straight in your r...

Unit11, that's interesting. I think that's what I have (either that or its predecessor) and I'm interested now in learning slalom. I guess I'll see how it goes but bear in mind that my skates might be a problem. They are still usable for slalom, don't think you will be done for! I've had the skates...

If you want to use skates primarily for fitness, and don't intend to do tricks or slalom skating, i would suggest a big-wheeled recreational skate, such as the k2 moto (this is the one i'd most recommend) or k2 moto 90 (or moto extreme if you're really game enough, which come with 90mm-100mm hi-lo s...

as for the frames, I know proline will ship abroad, as they advertise some of their prices without tax (for delivery to non european countrys). They do the v3 frames: http://www.prolineskates.com/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_Salomon_Freeskates.html (Note they're sophisticated page naming system /\ ) no...

I also find that with the frame being so much higher (to accomodate the rockering system) it feels flimsy and power transfer feels reduced. This might be because I'm comparing it to a viper frame (which I would strongly recommend for anyone into streetskating/freeriding as opposed to slalom) but I ...
