Re: Are these Matter Juice F1?

The concrete +grips are probably the best of the Hyper range but are still decidedly average, our group has mostly switched to gyro F2R's as they are similar but better value for money. As far as i'm aware The Matter Juice wheels are still considered to be the best on the market but are priced accor...

Re: Frame alignment help

I skate on a long frame with 90mm wheels, never had a problem, , the only problem i can think that this may cause is an uneven push.

Re: Need advice on new skates

but that was my point, the pro's were wearing Twisters not that long ago. The difference the kit makes (after a point and with the twisters its purely the weight) really isn't that much, but if you're on the bleeding edge you want any advantage you can get, like that guy who wears lycra for speed sl...

Re: Need advice on new skates

so what your saying in effect, is that if you want to be a pro slalomer you want to wear skates that the pro's are wearing.

why are we having this discussion again?

Re: Need advice on new skates

okay we may have misunderstood what you were asking, might be worth starting a new thread.

And it would be misleading for someone wanting to upgrade from Rec skates to discuss what the pro's are wearing these days.

Re: Need advice on new skates

Clearly that isn't objective. competent skaters are no less susceptible to advertisement, superstition, style, image and hype than any other person. This forum is silly sometimes. Peace, kowalski Hence the quotation marks :P It's kind of difficult to objectively measure the quality of a pair of ska...

There used to be a lot of pro skaters using twisters but not so many these days.

Re: Help on which skate to get

yeah not easy... The imperial is better than the FRX but not sure if its £25 better, and if your spending £135 your probably better off spending another £25 on the FR2... The budget end skates are not as good value for money although they are still much better than the alternatives. You're on the...

Different skates are also more or less forgiving of a poor fit.

so powerblading, is basically a cross between freeskating and agressive? ie: you can grind on a powerblade setup but still have 80mm wheels.

I think the point i was trying to make is your indoor practice time is often much more limited than outside (can anyone hear the grain?)

Re: skates for an (old) newbie...

There is a huge difference between inlines and quads, its friction and surface area. i'ts not just personal preference, you will move considerably faster and do so much easier on Inlines. Also don't get hypno's they are notoriously terrible, If you want skates in that style the xsjados are good, if ...

Re: skates for an (old) newbie...

I'd recommend a decent pair of free skates over hockey skates, unless all your doing is playing hockey. I don't skate on quads but i know of a few people who do and you need really specific wheels and even then it's not comfortable, also from what i hear they don't make the good wheels, cushions or ...

Re: Are Seba wheels rebranded Hyper wheels?

except Seba probably wont answer, and why do you care? If you're doing enough skating to notice minor quality differences, your wheels will wear out soon enough and you can buy whatever new ones you like. That actually leads to two questions: a. If you never skate out doors and only practice slalom ...
