Wide Foot Rec Skates

Hello all, Been a while since I've been here, anyways I'm wondering what are the current skates to go for someone who is very wide footed? My shoe size is 8 but I usually wear a 9 to accommodate my wide foot, however when it comes to skates I'm wearing a 10 (Rollerblade Astro 6.0) which even then is...

Re: Neon Lights

What about spoilers?

Seriously thought, CFL while a good choice is bulky. What you want is EL. Even more efficient and you can shape it!

I know that LS Mike and a couple of others did L2B a few years back. Mad men.

Re: Anyone got a place to slalom when wet in London (East pref)

So Kiwidude came round today and it seems the space is great for it, he had 8 cones out and reckons 10 people socialising and skating won't be too had, if we moved some stuff around could fit 2 rows of 8, or lengthways 2 rows of 10 or 12. He did mention needing more grippy wheels as the wooden floor...

Re: What pads and helmet to get?

Wanna go to CBR and try some on Sat and then maybe skate in the park? I ended up buying some Rollerblade ones, hard plastic with breathable mesh, very happy with them and trust me, I've been putting them through their paces lol.

Re: What skates?

I'll be back, skates don't fit in my snowboard bag so will need a skate bag, also try on more skates for that elusive perfect fit, I've just been told that there are skates with inflatable cushioning for a perfect fit. Avatar is me :) Or rather a few years ago, there's an animated me on various DVDs...

Re: Anyone got a place to slalom when wet in London (East pref)

If it's raining this evening drop by lol, was meant to be shown to how skate but if it's looking to be wet, I'll be at the hall. Ideally there won't be that big a crowd there but essentially just gimme a call and if I'm there and it's free then drop by. I'm there most evenings and weekends. Usually ...

Re: Anyone got a place to slalom when wet in London (East pref)

I have a large hall at my disposal in Limehouse, it's usually free but nothing a few calls can't sort out. Not sure how much space you need to slalom but we usually have parties with upto 600 people there. Wooden floors. PM me if interested and I'll give you my number, it'll be free on the basis tha...

Re: London Skyride [nee Freewheel] - 20th September

Unfortunately when you're unable to walk without crutches for the best part of a year, the sounds get in desparate need for renovation. All my systems are in parts waiting for complete rebuilds. I'll see if I can get something built up as I'm better these days, just lack the enthusiasm at the moment.

Footprint on skates

Is having a smaller footprint easier for newbies? Reason I ask is that I've just got my skates and I've had to get a size bigger, also they have a big footprint and I get the feeling that if I got skates with smaller wheels and closer together like aggressive skates it'd be easier to pick up? At the...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello all, I'm Sam from over in the East End (Limehouse/Mile End) I've met quite a few of you in the past but that was mostly to do with Sound systems. Anyways, I've finally joined the dark side and got myself a pair of skates. Been skating for about 2 hours and so far almost dislocated my shoulder ...
