Re: Skate bags

Some of those kinds of bags have a single strap which you can use to sling across your shoulders, but i don't think any of them have backpack style straps.

Also, when your skates are in your bag, how will you be carrying your water and umbrella, etc.?

Re: Skate bags

Yeah, azumi, makes sense. I needed such a bag because I lived out of town in a village and needed something to carry my laptop/books/etc + skates into town and to cart back my grocery shopping. Smaller bag makes sense if you just want something to carry your skates to the park and back. Now I wish I...

Re: Skate bags

The padding on the quantum is really good. Very comfy. There is no mesh layer for ventilation/breathability, but I've never felt the lack of it or ended up with a sweaty back for wearing it in the heat. It's even got a strap at chest height for added support, which I find very helpful, but I really ...

Re: Skate bags

I've had a rollerblade quantum backpack for a couple of years now and it's as tough as nails! I've given it a fair bit of abuse and it still looks and operates like new. http://www.rollerblade.com/usa/products/quantum-back-pack2/?cat=street I'm sure CBR have them; I've seen it in the shop the one ti...

Take them to Grant's Hogtoberfest workshop later this month and give that a go. You might be persuaded to hang on to them.

Cool, there's a nice uni there iirc

Correct! In fact I'm studying in it. In this town there are some longboarders, a handful of aggro skaters and a few recreational skaters. I'm trying to drum up some interest for dh, but its not easy :P

Re: Hogtoberfest Downhill Freeride!! Oct 27 and 28th 2012

The hill is a nice gentle easy one with loads of run off space, nice soft grass to land on either side! Oh I'm not at all worried about the gradient, just thought it would be more fun with 5x80s with a cuff rather than 4x110 with no cuff ;) Oh, I don't know about that. If I manage to find the space...

Re: Aggressive skates for skating around or not?

to be honest I can't answer that, some people take to skating and others don't. My only advice would be not to spend much money if you've never skated before, borrow some friends skates or hire them and if you don't have any friends who can teach you to skate you should pay out for at least one les...

Aaaaarrrgh I think I will stay well clear of this CoolSkate debate. Seems to me to be a bunch of rhetoric and nothing else.. In the end people will do what suits them. Atleast they should, I think.

Put "coolskate" into the search box and read what comes up. ;)

Erm I just did and came up with a random bunch of links. The only noteworthy ones are something to do with Cirrus planes and a couple of skaters from Belguim. I'm still confused.. :?
