Re: Creased Softboot = Ankle Pain

Yeah, I would never recommend K2. Seba, Rollerblade, or Powerslide. the latter brands have some lower end boots as well, but K2 doesn't have any higher end boots. One has to consider support - not just that of the ankle - but of the foot as well.

Re: InBlades (Inline skates to Ice skates)

Ha, yeah, I have a different blade on my Seba Highs. It's kind of a silly setup. The Seba High with an inline frame is so heavy compared to a hockey boot. It still works out decently and $50 is better than $110+ for someone that doesn't ice skate much. With a lighter setup it could be better.

Thesea are meant for offroad terrain. Try rolling over rocks, roots, gravel and dirt on uneven ground with 90mm wheels. These pneumatic wheels barely roll as it is.

Re: Yes, it's time to turn the lights out

Ah, damn, that's sad to hear. I couldn't have bought my first skates online without the help from the great people here. I think I managed to pass on some useful information onto others, there after. I'm in Canada and I only log in every few months to get my rocks off on endlessly discussing skate s...

Re: Your skates

Hey guys, it's been a while! I quit my job and and have basically just been skating this past year. I have tried many, many setups, but below is definitely my favorite freeride/downhill setup ever. 2013 Seba Igor boot with Seba FR cuff , 5x84mm Raps Extreme frame (listed as 5x80, but fits 84mm...

Re: Powerslide Vi SUV size chart or help with PS contact inf

Hey, thanks for getting back to me. Sorry for abandoning this thread. Yes, he is 100% correct. They don't roll well on flats of any kind and they don't roll well on grass, even on a slight decline, which was pretty surprising to me. These skates are best used for downhill on hard packed gravel or di...

Re: Seba Igor Pro Carbon Skates

A little too late now, but Igors generally fit a size larger than say a High or Fr boot. So, going down one size is usually a good idea. For instance, my foot is 171mm, but I'm wearing a size 41EU/27 (270mm) Igor. This does not work for a High; they would be too small, so I have to skate in a 43EU/2...

Re: do wheels have a shelf life/expire???

Yes! They are fully expired and useless! You must get rid of them. Send them to me, so that I can properly dispose of them. :D I have some Hyperformance wheels that were made over ten years ago and they still ride and slide like a boss. They seem to feel harder than usually, so they may have cured m...

Re: Powerslide Vi SUV size chart or help with PS contact inf

Damn, that really sucks to hear for him. It's bummer to order skates like that, only to have remove the feature that makes them worth buying. I guess I'd be curious to know his thoughts on the durability of the wheels, the ability to fix them, and what caused his flats, if it's not too much trouble....

Re: Powerslide Vi SUV size chart or help with PS contact inf

Damn, yeah, that's a good idea. Although, do to the sizing issue and being unfamiliar with PS boots, I tried to buy the frames and or tires separately and Powerslide wouldn't let anyone do that... Maybe it'd work if I were buying the complete skates with extra tires... I wonder if repairs would poss...

Holy shit, kazanaki, you not only responded faster than every shop who's job it is to answer these questions, but you actually have the information that like 25 emails could not get me (including the one to xskating :D). I'm speechless and don't know how to thank you enough! ({) Many thanks for look...

Powerslide Vi SUV size chart or help with PS contact info

Hey guys, I'm wondering if any of you may be able help to me to determine or find a size chart for the Powerslide Vi SUV, which is the Vi boot with the SUV frame and tires. I've literally sent 15-20 emails to shops, who could not help and 3 emails through the Powerslide.de online contact form and on...

lol I've rockin' my Highs for three years now and have never washed them. Only put clean socks and clean feet into your boots and I can't see there being a problem.

Re: What makes a skate?

I havent tried the FR, but I cant imagine a more comfortable skate than the High. I have comfort from km 1 to km 40. If i had a wider skate, i wouldnt expect the perfect fit to be perfect anymore. It seems that foot shape has more to do with it.

Re: Seba iGOR sizing

Bebai, I wasn't referring to weight or looks, just fit. The Igor is most certainly lighter. They may also be less bulky in general than the High, not that it's been a concern for any reason. Freddy, for me it was straight forward. The 2012 High and FR size charts for my size were the same. For your ...

Re: Plz help with buying skates!

The Seba Pro is the Seba High Carbon Pro, which is the Seba High Carbon with a deluxe frame. The Seba Red is Seba High in red and so on. The customs are explained. There are tons of online vendors for Seba. I'd advise looking through other threads on Seba skate advise to find out more about each ska...

Re: Seba iGOR sizing

Unfortunately I have no experience with the KSJ or Trix. I bought Seba Igors for downhill and they suit the purpose very well, as the cuff is very rigid (it doesn't give at all) and side to side rigidity is needed for cornering/breaking. They're not a great choice for general skating around and I do...

Re: Transitioning from inline to ice speed skates for the wi

Thanks for the info everyone, it's much appreciated and motivating. PeterC, it's good to hear that clubs are stoked to see people of all ages starting to speed skate. I ended up giving up on the idea of ice speed skating. Ice time seems like a major hurdle. So, between that and the cost of skates th...
