Re: Couple of new slalom frames

Possibly, but you'd have to ask your local Powerslide distributor.

Speed laces

It's 2013, I shouldn't have to be tying shoelaces still, so this is good news: http://i.imgur.com/iplq15S.jpg http://i.imgur.com/9Drc7N1.jpg http://i.imgur.com/H3Ae7v5.jpg The velcro strap looks awful, but hopefully the speed lacing will catch onto other skate models. In the meantime though, I've al...

Re: DIY skate customization

I'm excited to se the outcome. I really hope for your sake it looks good  . If you really hate gold so much, why didn't you but the trix instead? Trix are significantly more expensive than KSJs in China, otherwise I probably would've bought Trix instead and gotten a carbon cuff to go with them.

Re: DIY skate customization

In retrospect, I definitely should've gone with Tamiya spray paint. Another guy reported having the paint marker start to flake off, but he started skating in them within a day of application, and didn't use a protective coating. I gave mine several coats, and a couple of days to dry, as well as app...

Re: Couple of new slalom frames

The fierce frames are available now for 2600RMB on taobao now, but apparently they're made of 7075 T6 aluminum with a titanium plasma coating , and not a titanium alloy like I originally thought. I wonder if aluminum is really strong enough for how thin they are, but if they can hold up to Guo Fang'...

Re: Brief review of KSJs vs EVOs

I'm not sure why skaters aren't buying igors instead. I'll have to ask about that sometime, but it could just be a bias against igors/EVOs in China where it's thought that they're designed for "western" feet which are supposedly more narrow than Asian feet. Many of the skaters who have to...

DIY skate customization

Golden KSJs are overly gaudy, so I decided to change the color on them. KSJs are also expensive skates though, so I decided to use my old seba highs first as a testing platform before painting my KSJs: http://imgur.com/ECQuHQX http://i.imgur.com/fFMfYU7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ehVC4xs.jpg So acrylic ...

Nope, just a different color used for the latest batch of MST team skates, it's Guo Fang in the picture.

Re: Just spotted this ...

The price is nice at least, but I thought this was what they were trying to achieve with the high light. A greater selection is always nice, but it also feel like they're just rehashing skates instead of coming out with something more innovative. Well, they are experimenting with a speed lace system...

Re: Are these Salomons any good?

They'd be okay to start with if you got rid of that heel brake and rockered the wheels by replacing the first and last wheel of each skate with 76mm wheels. I don't know how supportive that boot is though, and the frame would still be longer than necessary, so you'd still want to switch to something...

Re: Brief review of KSJs vs EVOs

Your KSJ are definitely the shiny ones ! I never saw the WFSC's for sale in any shop in Europe and I don't know if they were really produced, they were announced in the Seba 2013 range in black, not gold. About the softening of the cuff area, what happens is that its shape adapts to your leg and it...

Re: Brief review of KSJs vs EVOs

Supposedly the joint area get soft and unsupportive after an extensive amount of skating. I've heard of it happening to a number of skaters, and a friend of mine used to buy a new pair of KSJs every year because of it. Shouldn't be a problem for most people though, didn't stop me from buying a pair ...

Re: Couple of new slalom frames

The fierce frames should also be available in gold and plasma anodized, same as IS frames.

I'm not sure if it has any actual advantages over IS frames, but it's still nice to see at least one company experimenting with titanium.

Brief review of KSJs vs EVOs

A friend and I decided to go buy new skates a week ago. I've been wearing the same pair of size 41 seba highs for nearly five years now, and the inside of the liner on the right foot finally broke such that I'd have blisters from wearing them. I patched it up with a bit of duct tape, but haven't ska...

Couple of new slalom frames

http://i.imgur.com/SXhUyki.jpg Flying Eagle's new Ego frame, reviewed in Chinese here . Rockerable axles like the old salomon frames, center of gravity roughly the same as freewave's musa frames with a slight emphasis towards the heel. Weight is 214g without axles, 265g with axles. Price is 420RMB ...

Re: Powerslide Vendors on Taobao?

angelattack.taobao.com is more or less the most reputable skate store on taobao, and they have EVOs for 2430 RMB. I've yet to see any counterfeit EVOs, so any other store selling them for roughly that price should also be safe. Note that Powerslide skates in China have slightly different colors than...

2013 appears to be "coming soon," but it could just be that the website hasn't been updated yet. I'd send them an e-mail either way, just to be sure.

Re: Are these Matter Juice F1?

We can do a race. Although I doubt that you will be much faster due to Matter. :P Then Matter must have dropped their prices. The usual retail price for one Matter wheel was round 10 EUR. Bad streets.^^ That, and you only need one harder wheel for braking. If you don't believe me, ask a pro: http:/...
