Re: Doop Skates - What's the point?

No, I think you didn't understand the question or you wouldn't have made the running analogy. Yes, when you exercise hard in any sport your body sweats. Running is only relevant that far. I'm specifically asking about dooping. Doops are supposed to allow you to skate in shoes, then afterwards comfor...

Re: Doop Skates - What's the point?

Doopers! (Which according to urban dictionary is a poo where one end is dipping in the water while the other is still being revealed). I'm considering Xsjados (same tech, right?) When I take my boots off normally my liners and socks are wet. Don't usually want to continue wearing them. Won't my shoe...

Re: Need advice on new skates

Clearly that isn't objective. competent skaters are no less susceptible to advertisement, superstition, style, image and hype than any other person.

This forum is silly sometimes.

Re: Soaps

I love Soaping! I'm good enough now to pop impromptu Royales on the fronts of benches and low ledges in public spaces. I found these used Salomon Mr Wilson's (the ones with the Sole Plate) in my size on the German eBay. There was some frantic last-second bidding which, in the end, I won. http://www....

Re: Soaps

Extremely. If comfort can be extreme? Either way, I forget that I'm wearing them. I have been wearing them for everyday stuff like going to the supermarket and today I wore them while flying (the metal screws did not set off the detectors). The sole is about 1/4 - 1/3 thicker than an air-max type so...

Re: Soaps

These things are brilliant. I started out on the marble step at the front of my flat in Manchester. It took me a little time to get accustomed to landing on my arches. Instinctively I kept landing on my the heel or ball of my foot. I did my first proper grind, a Royale. On the way back from Sainsbur...

D30

Anyone using any protective gear made of D30? Seems pretty awesome. They don't have any helmet certification (yet) but seems like it could provide adequate protection for lazy Sunday's rolling around the park with the girlfriend, or having Gladiator style pugil stick fights in the garden with shovel...

Re: Soaps

They have a forum. I have asked over there about the wax situation. And, grind shoes have an interesting backstory: I think they were invented by an ex-Rollerblade employee who sold the company for a huge stack of dollars. It was then sold again, eventually ending up in the hands of whoever owns Hee...

Re: Soaps

I concur! Also, £20 for a well machined pair of trainers is a pretty good deal. I expect they are built to be pretty tough considering what they are to be used for. Them having the grind block is a bonus. In fact it is such a good deal that I just threw down another £20 for a pair of size 4 Soap C...

Soaps

I just ordered possibly the final pair of new Soap Shoes available in my size (UK11) from http://www.rawk.com for £22.90 including delivery. These - http://www.rawk.com/p8853/soap-shoes-scab-black/ I'm planning to get some aggressive boots as soon as I get to Inercia in Barcelona to try a bunch of ...

Re: Master-skate

Thanks to azumi's advice in my Driller Killer thread I now have comfortable boots. Hoorah! I've been travelling around Spain for the last few weeks skating wherever possible. This has been all just skating for fun. Zipping along beaches, past Roman ruins and through beautiful city parks. It has been...

I'm really interested to know a little about how stable you end up with experience. Already I find many things that would have toppled me in my earlier weeks skating now cause on minor wobbles. Partly because I have less of a panic when something unexpected happens. How long have you been skating? H...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Hey man, I want to get some Valo carbons and currently I have RB Twister which I use for urban skating, they are fun to use, responsive and light and the air vents really help when your feet start sweating. The stock wheels are shitty though. I'm away from home but will check at my friend's if they ...

Re: Driller Killer

Word! It isn't just me then. You had ankle surgery!?! Required because of skating or other?

What skates have you found to be comfortable? Or have you found a need to modify all your skates so far?

Trying to determine if I have a lifetime of modding skates ahead of me.

Maybe if I fund a secluded spot! I need to be a lot better before I'm willing to let anyone catch me filming myself.
