Re: Nomadeshop

Finally got a refund. They were nice enough guys if very much too relaxed about messing up my order. Not as bad communication as I was dreading after reading some other posts but they could have sent me the correct skates at least, I might have kept them. All in all I am happy with my Salomon FSK's,...

Re: Rockering

Is it worth buying her the skate? I use 4 x 80mm powerblading frames on my FSK's and love them, and I'm about to upgrade to K2 alu frames from Azumi for mine. Can't imagine what it's like riding flat rocket but on 2 x 80 and 2 x 76. I guess it's just a little slower?

Rockering

Hi all, I am wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of someone using Salomon FSK frames (such as the alu 245 that only allow 76mm/80mm combo max) for skating outside of slalom (such as urban). I'm thinking of getting my girlfriend a pair of FSK skates as I love mine, but most seem to come w...

Re: Nomadeshop

They just replied....to an e-mail I sent a good long while ago asking about the skates, way before I bought them.

...this could be a long wait!

Re: Nomadeshop

Well, it's good that I can claim my refund with Paypal. Thanks for finding that post. As it happens I have already initiated this through Paypal and will be able to escalate it to a claim from 24/05/2013 if they do not respond to my calls and e-mails. It's a shame really - this could all be ironed o...

Nomadeshop

So, what's up with those guys? I placed an order for skates on Friday evening (drunk as hell - genuinely can't remember doing it, but my girlfriend can haha), received no shipping confirmation at all. I kinda regret buying them drunk so I tried to get a refund on Saturday and Sunday. No answer on th...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

I got wasted on Friday night, woke up Saturday morning and found that I had placed an order for Fila NRK Road 2013's with Nomadeshop. I honestly can't remember doing it. I'm trying to cancel but they're not picking up the phone or responding to my e-mails, hahaha. OOPS!

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Oops, just read on rockering information on different models of FSK frames. I now have an understanding of what to expect. Shaw, the Salomon's are just to play around with. I will still have sufficient funds to buy a brand new pair when I can get down to a skate-shop myself and try a whole bunch ou...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Thanks for the information about the FSK line Dom. The frames that came with them are carbon composite (FSK 238). Right now they have 70mm wheels on them and I'm unsure whether they'll fit my 80mm hyper concrete wheels. But I have access to another pair which are a size lower, with aluminium 237 FS...

Wanted: Light FSK Frames

Hi guys, If anybody has any UFS compatible frames that can fit Hyper Concrete 80mm wheels that they'd like to get rid of then please feel free to message me. I don't mind how tatty they are, but the lighter the better. I just got some Salomon FSK skates super cheap on e-bay but they came with frame...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Not that this thread is about this anymore, but just to let you all know that I'm returning the Twisters today and I got my hands on a pair of Salomon FSK skates on ebay for less than £40. I think I will just pick up different brands gradually, cheaply and second-hand to try them out for myself.

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Apologies, I should probably have mentioned that I got the Twister 2013 Limited Edition model. They're a little better than your average ones!

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Domsablos, this is not the only place I sought advice, although it must be said that your own informed my choice of Twisters. You said that they were damn good skates. I have also dug a little into Seba online (some of which I posted here) and concluded that I did not want to take a gamble on quali...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

You know what? The more I read posts on this forum and the more research I do into freeskating in general, the more I have come to understand how broad and bespoke the sport is for each individual I speak with. Creating awesome Frankenstein skates seems to be a very common practice. With this in mi...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Hey guys, here's a little update... I decided to get the Twisters sent over to me as my regular skate shop is really cool and doesn't mind my refunding if I don't like the skate. Unfortunately, I totally forgot about hard-shell boots having less shell sizes than liner sizes, and my size 6 liner see...

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Ah man, I usually just order my shoe size. Every aggressive pair I've ever owned has been true to my shoe size, as I think I am neither a small nor big size UK6. I must be in the middle. Are Fila particularly small-fitting then?

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Cool. I think youÔÇÖre right, IÔÇÖve already got hyper concrete 80mm wheels on my powerblading setup so if the wheels suck then I can simply switch them. I shall post a review once I try them out, thanks guys!

Re: An introduction and a question... (best urban skates?)

Only the 2013 version comes in my size, which isnÔÇÖt a bad thing, but does anybody know the differences? Maybe they skimped on areas? I canÔÇÖt work out if those are hyper concrete wheels on the new ones! Any thoughts? So close to booking now!
