My ex was a Surrey Ambulance paramedic along the route, and I had a chat with her about the ride in general a few days afterwards (Spent an hour with her along the route having fun  ) - she heard about a "dangerous skater" (Or could have been a group, not sure) that got into an accident, and h...

Oooh, just heard some rumour that the organisers weren't chuffed with us skaters, one of whom stacked and cut their head open. Apparently they were "skating dangerously" and caused the cyclist to crash who then had to be helicoptered out of the first danger spot. Of course what actually happened is...

I'm talking to someone from the council this week about it. I was thinking more end July/early august but the 17th June does seem appropriate too. After skating London to Brighton would skaters feel like doing more? Or might that date be more of a chill out skate/gathering and the july/august one be...

i heard 5.5 hrs. is that right? I did it in 5h 20 minutes, but that included all of the stopping time. There were two groups, the first was made up of Kensey, SteveH(?) and me. We set off early and took quite a lot of short breaks (maybe 10 or so), but never stopped for more than 5 / 10 minutes. Fr...

A few years ago a bus in stockwell decided to shove me off the road - bent my front wheel. I put my bike right infront of hte bus, and went behind it and hit the kill switch. The guy came out of the bus, right upto my face and said "What the fuck did you do that for?". He didnt realise I had a big s...

You may well be right about cyclists infringements being picked on to a greater extent. I expect the reason is that motorists are more accountable for their actions in that they have licences to loose etc and they get anoyed that cyclists can break the rules of the road with impunity. But that does...

I didn't do the route check, and I think the roads will be too rough to skate in places, going by the condition of the country lanes on the London-Southend ride I did two weeks ago. Bigsteev, you can easily go on the day, and you don't need to register if you don't want to. Just turn up and cycle i...

It is a bicycle, granted it costs more than most bikes (and 2nd hand cars), and I can hit a top speed of 47mph on a flat, but its still a bicycle ;) If you can really do that then you wouldn't be nancying about here, you'd be a paid pro innit! To be fair I didn't believe someone else's claim of 37m...
