The frame and boot. If your wheels hit the ground they stick, you stop sliding and tumble to floor in a discordinated fashion.

It's not too bad on the knees, but then again I'm young, so I don't find anything bad on the knees. Cess slides are very bad on your skates though, cause your sliding across concrete it wears them out very quickly.
