When you said it was topical, I thought it was going to be a Jimmy Savile costume

Re: Labeda Asphalt Wheels

It will probably be a perpetual week spot. I wouldn't recommend doing any jumps in them. Other than that should be fine.

Re: Extremely tight Axles

It's probably Alu-Alu bonding. When you undo them normally there can be a funny smell and the look of smoke about them. If you rotate your wheels a lot then you shouldn't have a problem but it's pretty common.

Re: LFNS - Friday 19 October

It's currently very wet out there and although it looks as though there is a break in about an hour, with not much heat or wind it is highly unlikely to dry up at this time of year so the skate it not surprisingly off tonight.

Re: LondonSkate Sat Special & Party Sat 22nd Sept

OMG I think there was one sound system for every 10 skaters, that was mental and brilliant. Good to pilot the Thumper again after a couple of years off too. It even rained on Sunday so I didn't even have to contemplate getting out of bed....not that I was going to. Could not have been better planned...

Re: NTNTWNS 19th Sep - 8pm Liverpool St

To quote the oracle that is Spock...The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one. Frankly if someone or a few people lose the skate when we were hardly caning it then the options are: 1 - leave them behind - harsh but some people will subscribe this 2 - tell them we will meet them ...

Re: LFNS: Older, no Wiser 21/9/12

On second thoughts. The radar has joined up. It's going to rain from 18:30 for almost an hour. That means no chance of drying up in time for 8 and the route has a lot of bus routes on it and will be terribly slippy so I'm going to have to cancel it. Most pissed off as I have been planning this one s...

The Asbox transmitter is charged and ready. Does someone have a music mix or should I bring an ipod, assuming we get a GO?

I've got some tired ones but if you have something you'ld rather listen to then bring that.

Re: LFNS: Older, no Wiser 21/9/12

Been studying the radar all day. There will be rain tonight but each time it looks like it will make it in time, it splits and comes no further. Suspect it will be a late call today but I think maybe only a 30% chance of a skate at the moment. Keep an eye here or on http://www.lfns.co.uk homepage fo...

Di scount is a new role. I don't think it is in the Marshal's Wiki yet. Might have something to do with a certain skate shop. ;)

Re: Wet pavement skating?

Bearings don't generally rust. They do sieze up though. That's caused by small amounts of dirt picked up in the water that gets inside and dries in little piles that stop the ball bearings from freely rotating against the races. If you spin them occasionally while they are drying and dry them flat t...

Re: Calories Burned while street skating

The more crap at skating you are, the more you burn. If anyone wants to lose weight on street skates then they're not fast enough to raise a sweat if you have an efficient technique and have reasonable fitness. Stay rubbish and struggle to keep up and you'll lose weight so long as you don't drink it...

Palindrome date skate. Also my birthday. Come as join me as I recreate a route I first came up with last year. It's a little loopy so let's see if the scout & blockers go the right way this time :)

Sunday Stroll - Goth Central 16/9/12

Usual time, usual place, usual rules, usual pace. It's the "Anything as long as it's black" skate. That could be seen as an invitation to wear black. Of course, Mira needs no invitation :) If the rest of you want to darken your look then feel free. I know I will. More on http://www.lfns.co...

Re: Brussels to Amsterdam

I can't say what Belgium will be like but the bike paths in The Netherlands are usually very skatable . Having done 6 skate tours there, you are likely to encounter some cobbled paths in towns but between towns are usually good to excellent skating surfaces. There will be sections that are tiled but...

Re: Powerslide Hardcore Evo (Longer Frames)

They have a good heel clearance to take some old school 165 spaced 4*100 frames. Would be pretty good with 5*80 or 5*84 too. There's not a massive amount of flex though so you are more likely to feel detached from the road surface than super speedy over it. If you get any collar pressure or rubbing ...

Realised want I had forgotten on the way. My shorts. Skateing in long motorcycle jeans was interesting. Lovely day out though. Thanks to the organisers for picking up the ball. Dan and the crew got to skate it this year, which was nice too :)
