Well that was an interesting skate.

Its a bit mad..... stupid stupid up hill at the start... then some pretty nice long down hill stretches.
They do la the warnings on a bit thick, we were a bit scared of what to expect but in the end the downhills where just nice, not scary.
Have to say though, they're not the warmest of people!
They seem to take it all a bit too seriously, very little welcome or interest in us... which is odd for Barca, everyone else I've ever met here is just so friendly and interested in you.... and hell even in Paris you get a great welcome from the skaters!

In the end they took us up a second massive hill and I bailed as couldn't be arsed. Mozz and Sparks made it back all the way.

Just odd that they weren't really friendly.... Spaniards are usually so warm!

On a side note, we didn't even bother to go to the pub with them... so saved a bit of cash!

That is quite odd, the Barcelona street skaters I've met have always been really friendly.

The Friday one is probably more friendly as, being slower, people are able to speak instead of struggling for breath on the uphills (or was that just me?)

Didnt Sparky put thier noses out of joint last year by skating backwards down the hills?

That could possibly explain things (and there was much skating backwards past them again)... to be fair they seemed no warmer to each other than they did to us, so perhaps they really were just concentrating allot!

Makes you greatfull for what a friendly bunch we have in London!

The Friday skate is more friendly. I have been working out here during the weekdays for 16 months and over all the skate scene is good.
Sorry to have missed you I was away that day.
You have to remember that the people of Barcelona are Catlans not Spanish and are more serious in nature.

Catalans.... more serious????? LOL
Most of the Spaniards I know ARE Catalans... and those that I met last night were certainly only serious about throwing fireworks around! Happy St John's days!
