Japan Streetskates...?

Postby Wild Phil » Wed Feb 20, 2013 2:49 pm

I'm planning a trip to Japan at the end of the year, would anyone happens to have any inside information on the skating scene there? I'd love to take my skates and do some sightseeing...

Does anyone know how strict the rules are there?

there are groups of skaters in hiroshima, okayama, kobe, tokyo that i have personally met. they were very accommodating and my brother subsequently visited them the following year again with thank you gifts

in japan, the atmosphere of skating is very family-centric, with many of the skaters composing of mothers and fathers with their young children. as a result, most of the skating is done during the weekends. with regards to size, the scene is fairly small and personal. the turnout when i was there was around 10-20 people in every city, which is roughly similar to the australian scene here

whereabouts are you planning on visiting?
