it's a matter of availability here, where the only linerless slalom skates are sebas.

im not too concerned of the padding, but doesn't less padding imply more control?

So, are you saying that about speed skates and hockey skates as well?

Sure thing that's why you don't see freeskaters with speedskates. Hockey skates are a different story. But each and everyone their own. :)

Freeskaters don't wear speedskates because they're uncomfortable and low quality??

It's not really accurate to say freeskaters don't wear speedskates anyhow. Before KSJs came out, Powerslide C8s paired with a slalom frame were considered the best skates for slalom among Chinese skaters (aside from Freewaves which cost twice as much).
