Seba Frx 80 vs Seba Fr2 80 please could you help me choose

Postby elegantsynergy » Wed May 16, 2012 1:24 pm

Hi I'm David and hope to get some help on the forum.

Looking for a new pair of skates but stuck between Seba Frx 80 and Seba Fr2 80.

Can any one offer any advice on the difference between the two other than the velcro strap on the Frx.

Many thanks in advance

David

Seba Fr2's have better frames wheels bearings and liners! + they are easily customised (You can change the colors of the cuffs side plates ect.) The price of them has dropped recently and i would say there an amazing skate for the money. The FRX is a solid price point skate but the FR2 goes well beyond them. Its worth the extra i think you can get them for £150 now right?

Becca reckons that the FR2 is also a narrower boot (than the FR1, of which the FRX is supposed to be based).. not able to confirm it myself though.

I think is is a matter or pricing

  • Seba FR1 is the original (250 euros)
  • Seba FR2 is a cheaper FR1 (200 Euros)
  • Seba FRX is an even cheaper FR1 (150 Euros)

The FR1 is the main skate and at each step Seba tries to cater to different price audiences by lowering the quality of components (e.g frames as already mentioned).

So if you can afford it go for the FR2. Just my opinion.

Customization options I think are the same for all skates (called the FRx series)

The FR2 is well worth the extra, simply for the frame. It is made of a higher grade aluminum (stiffer, higher precision), and is threaded for one piece axles.

Where does the Deluxe fit in that list?

FR Deluxe is the FR1 with the deluxe frame and balance liner. Both of these things feel amazing when skating.

Above that still, is the FR-A. It is the FR Deluxe with the soul plate and backslide plate fitted as standard. Kinda useless if you don't want to use them though.

I think it is just an FR1 with 90mm wheels (for freeriding). I don't see anything different.

Basically if you have an FR1 you can buy separately frames/liners/bearings/wheels and convert it to all other versions of FR1.

The only thing that you cannot easily change is the shell (you need a separate skate :-)
