*Gosh this thread is long*

Hi!

I├óÔé¼Ôäóm Antonio. I spent my teenage years in a quiet Spanish city, annoying pedestrians and shopping mall keepers whilst on roller skates with my mate (blades were hardly heard of in those days ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ gosh I├óÔé¼Ôäóm I that old!?!)

I didn├óÔé¼Ôäót do much skating in the past 9 years, then I bought blades in October and I encountered the Sunday Stroll more or less by chance in February, and been hooked on the Friday nights ever since.

I├óÔé¼Ôäóve spoken to loads of people in the skates and in the park. I love the London skating scene├óÔé¼┬ª Everyone is so friendly 
I├óÔé¼Ôäóm just gutted I didn├óÔé¼Ôäót find it earlier!

I├óÔé¼Ôäóm finding the forum a bit daunting at times mind├óÔé¼┬ª seems like there├óÔé¼Ôäós a core of people that are here all the time ├óÔé¼ÔÇ£ don├óÔé¼Ôäót you people do any work?!? ;-) (Just wanting to spend less time working really, so jealous I guess)

Anyhow this is me, in case you wanna put a face to a name/nick:
http://www.lfns.co.uk/2007/04/01/53.JPG
(Needless to say, I├óÔé¼Ôäóm the one that is not Samy)

So anyhow, there goes my intro. Though it was due after I started posting! ;-)

Welcome to SR.com.... Yes most of us do have jobs, we just prefer to hang around here than do work.

Dont be put off by the closeness of us all, some of us have been on this board for years.

So dive in, have fun and take most of it with a pinch of salt.....

Heya,

I'm PounceQuick, new in this forum and new in London too -- well not *that* new but still less than 1 year. Tried to skate when I was in school and now trying to don the skate again (badly).

I'm Kevin.

Sometimes I feel compelled to read the small print.
Sometimes I re-edit it a little.

Sometimes.

Tonight was my first LFNS.

Still can't calm down enough to sleep.

Hi everyone. I'm David and I live in Bristol (South West of England). I started skating about 15 years ago and did it for a couple of years, but never got past the basics. Then I snapped a foot falling backwards and didn't get back on a skate until a few months ago. Never had a comfortable skate on my Rollerblade Sparkys

I joined a local club a couple of weeks ago - still with the Rollerblades - still hurting my ankles.

Having been recommended various types by the very helpful people here (thanks Phil) I've been out today and bought a pair of Seba FR1s. Loving them ;)

This is a great forum  Glad I found it.

Hi. Again

Hello, I'm a failure 8)

So I've come sheepishly back in an attempt to rectify that. I'm going to start slow, you know, reading the forum to put me in a wheely frame of mind, trying to remember exactly where I put those neon skates 3 months ago pre-exams and pre-estate-agents (GOD estate agents ruin lives!) with the idea of surruptitiously creeping back into hyde park around september time to fall down once more hooray! (d) (or a (b) for the gentlemen?)

I'm still really called beth (as much as tiddelypom appeals) and im still pathetic at skating. I still also enjoy such things as theatres, music college and maya gold chocolate although I didnt divulge this previously. And clearly I still write in a completely upmyself unnecessarily ornate style of prose which in no way reflects my manner of speech.

Haven't been on here for yonks because I've not been skating - but for fitness reasons it's time to dust off the old skates (or maybe buy new ones).

Maybe I'll learn how to skate backwards or t-brake effectively - or maybe I'll just enjoy skating up and down.

Not really looking forward to the ride around Portsmouth (UK variety) most of the roads and pavements are ruined.

The forum welcomes you back. All that's left is for you both to post something in foo that will get up the noses of those who like to think of themselves as old school but who are really new school so you'll get ripped to shreds and frightened off the forum. Enjoy.
