new skater from the UK

Postby irussb » Fri Dec 24, 2004 1:44 am

Hi, I'm Russ, 28 from W Sussex. Recently started skating after a night out with some mates at Guildford ice rink for a laugh. I got totally hooked. That was 3 months ago and now I am training on an inline hockey team. I skate practically every day that i can. It's never too late to start these crazy habits i guess. Can't believe how addicted i am!!
Now I have been amazed by the likes of Skali et al from France and intend on skating at the Esplanade des Invalides in Paris next year. That's gotta be so cool. Has anyone been out there to do some Slalom for a laugh / competed there or at Annecy in the French Alps?
And here I was thinking I was the only one considering going to Ikea to buy plastic cups and realised that you've all been at it!! Sweet!
So who does Slalom round here and fancies hooking up for some sesh's? I totally suck at slalom so if you want a laugh at someone else's expense ;)
And that's my intro, nice to meet you all!!

Lots of us on here do slalom. Usually every weekend in Hyde Park, but it's a bit far for you.

Hi I├óÔé¼Ôäóm Darren

I too have got the addiction, I suspect like many people on this forum, I get my fix by, donning my walkman and skating in Hyde Park, Greenwich Park or Canary Wharf at weekends and attending street skates also the odd roller disco and ice rink session.

I achieved my first big goal on Sunday and skated the length of Serpentine Road backwards. When I first started skating that would have been the ultimate goal├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬ªnot now.

Hi I'm Emacle. No ego, no need for one, got nothing to prove. Got a huge bruise on my bottom though from the skate park, which hasn't completely gone down yet, since like a month ago.

PS, I'm a bad spller and have no proper use of English grammer.
