Pari-Roller 30 July 2010

Postby mit on Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:14 am

This is my birthday weekend and I'm going to Paris to celebrate.

Facebook event.

For non-facebook types, we'll be travelling out on train 9022 at 11:32am on 30 July from St Pancras station, returning on train 9061 at 8:43pm [on Sunday August 1] from Paris Nord. The skate itself starts at Montparnasse at 10pm on Friday 30 July so you can choose your own transportation or train times if you prefer.

Will probably be staying around Gare de Lyon or Montparnasse.

Yeah I think we all know. Brighton's a great place to go in the peak of summer when the sun is out, but given the clash/choice, I'll do Paris. Any excuse for a Eurostar holiday ;)

Can't work out from your first post what day you are coming back? It reads like you are returning the same day without doing the skate.

I have to say I am tempted but I've not really partied in Brighton and I have done Paris FNF quite a few times.

Edit - okay read the facebook event and you are coming back Sunday.

quite excited about it as I've never done Pari-Roller and haven't been to Paris for a few years now. I may stay at a friend's but not sure yet, otherwise anyone knows anywhere cheap or can we book a group thing?

I asked the hotel I was thinking of staying at about group bookings and they said they would do a discount but we'd have to book all the rooms at the same time, which isn't realistic...

TimHotel Montparnasse. Not the nicest hotel but reasonable price and right next to the Friday skate start/finish.

I can't seem to find the EXACT starting point of the Pari-roller
I mean I know it is in Montparnasse area , but a place on Google maps might be handy for people like me that do not know Paris that well . ( or at all :P )

Or just follow the several thousand skaters all heading in one direction to the start point!
