Could we perhaps do a few slalom busking sessions to raise some money for the event? this would also encourage people to attend the event on the actual day.

perhaps one at trafalgar square and one at southbank?

I'd love to go for some of that, but I think people would pay me to stop instead.

It all sounds very exciting this Skate London Event?!
I'm very likey will be there.
But I just wish you can do a turn up and join in.
- And I don't mind paying say, twice more than those who have registered and fully paid.
(Like the Goodwood Marathon - someone could ask them the figures for the extra people they get)
In this situtation both the event organiser and participate benefit.
More funding to cover the cost, registered make a saving, those who turn up have can decide at the final moment.
- So something different and big like this makes my feet really wants to put on the skates, pop along and get involved.
I love my slalom and there is a huge satisfaction showing people the new tricks I have recent managed to do...

fortunately, you can just turn up & register/join in on the day.
Costs the same though. Maybe I should change that for next year, and add a cheaper pre-register option.

- The underlining is like the important bits.
Acidedge (Jim), Naomi, Becca...
...I hope to be there with you all at this event.
I'm planning my attendance and if the weather is nice on that weekend, you know I'm likely to turn up.
- So - so I got about a month to sort out those tricks I know I'm so close to cracking.

I AM COMING AHHHHHHH!
Oh yeah, bring it on tutututut, tralala, pouet pouet!

Seriously though, I'm not competing, don't event force me. I've not picked up a cone since I made a fool of myself in front of Skali last winter. So it aint gonna happen, I'm just gonna watch you all, point and laugh.
In fact, I might even turn up in speed skates, just to make sure.

clearly a joke, but as someone who is too self conscious to get up there & take part themselves, you will understand that many other people are very self conscious about taking part and may be easily put off by such words said in jest...

But I am pleased you're coming!!! ({)

Right, thanks to Silveraj, the website is now updated with information that is actually correct, and not, infact, months out of date and thus incorrect:
