Thanks for all the enthusiasm guys!

We're really hoping to make this event a great success by raising lots of money for the survivors of Haiti.

only problem is camping here will be very cold (and wet?) compared to le Mans and therefore much harder to get up for shifts - assuming we do shifts that is.....

I just got a response from them on this... and the cross over is along one of the runway sections... so loads of width and time to swap sides along that straight.

It's a 1.75 mile figure of eight which should make it a lot of fun, fast straights and nice sweeping corners.

Hi folks!
Yes the figure-of-8 'cross-over' is along the long wide centre spar of the course, as Barrie says, so there's a huge area of tarmac and a considerable distance for us to swop sides, and that's travelling in the same direction. Sort of like merging lanes. We may use cones to assist the tracking, or adapt the course altogether if for any reason we feel that's best. But the track is very wide everywhere, the main runway section is - well, the width of a 747! - about the same width as both carriageways of the M25. Huge! The top section is maybe the width of 3 normal car lanes (guessing) so we shouldn't have any shortage of road to play with.

The 'figure of-8' circuit is 1.75 miles long. The track obviously has lots of corners and the merging cross-over in the middle, so it should always be an interesting skate, and it's so wide that at skating speeds even the Hammerhead corner should be a comfortable sweeper.

See you on the track!
Jo

edit: ah Sonic you beat me to it! ;)
