SkateLondon2010: It begins! AUG 14th/15th

Postby Naomi » Fri Apr 09, 2010 10:25 am

I know its rather early, but wanted everyone to know that it is even on scheduler than last year...

On monday I shall meet our new location contact (same location, different manager) and pay for the venue. I have also approached a new hostel. And as has already been mentioned in another thread, have now made an agreement to get KSJ to SkateLondon too. I'll try for the same restaurant as last year and probably the same schedule too.

Could I have a new volunteer to be the web updater? One big update needed now, and then can remain mostly dormant until mid June.

I definitely plan for there to be hockey, lemans and bladercross again this year - I turned down the offer of hosting the european championships so that we could keep these events!

Slothgirl - yes! We should have a meeting to discuss specific roles actually.

Fun fun fun! I do have this weekend scheduled as free from work, as well as the friday before and the monday after... And a different hostel is a very good plan ;)

I can only make the Sunday this year due to an inconveniently placed wedding but I shall see you there.

Is this still being held at the same place as last year? I seem to recall some mention recently of a change of venue...

There was a brief period of doubt caused by a change of staff at the venue but it's all sorted now.

Hey yep, we're setting up all the same events as last year too, including:

bladerX (Quentin),
24 minute leMans (Lurch),
hockey (Becca),
Jump,
slides,
rookie slalom,
men's speed slalom,
women's speed slalom,
men's freestyle, and
women's freestyle.

The updated info is up on the website already too.

Ooh, slides are back. Is this now allowed inside or to be at an undisclosed outdoor location?

On the court just outside the entrance, so only about 20 meters from the actual slalom.

I'm in for photo sessions again. I've negotiated the weekend so I'm good for both days. I think the format will be different this year with a different look.

Planning to do 2 things this year a static shoot and a roaming one. I could do with help to set up the static shoot and I need 2 assistants for the roaming one to hold the flashes. Any volunteers?

Mark
