Ohhh - now I get it - that tunnel on the way to Goodwood is the new Hindhead Tunnel? ... saw it on the drive down but didn't put 2+2 together until now. Cool!

Bit of deep thread mining here ...

Did anything cool come out of this petition? I saw on BBC news this morning that people have been given the opportunity to walk through the tunnel for the first time today.

Even if not, apparently it'll be open in July, which should make this year's trip to Goodwood a little quicker and easier. (y) (y)

Doh, I thought I had updated this thread with the latest, I kept hoping they would change their mind but the answer was no :(

All in the name of Health and Safety apparently (n)

A group of cyclists were told to get names together for an event to but were also stopped in the name of H&S.

Even the mass open day was limited to a small number of people who had to pay to go see the tunnel!

The good news is that it will be opening in July ready for all of you to come to Goodwood this year ;)
