Sunday April 25 - CALLED OFF.. RAIN

Postby Mentally Dull » Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:51 pm

We noticed that the London Marathon is this Sunday, and considered joining in; but then we realized that this was way too pedestrian a thing to do, so we're now going somewhere far far away from the sweating and panting masses. We hope Bishop's park should be an oasis of, er, something in comparison.

route: it's going West, innit: http://www.lfns.co.uk/2010/04/marathonic/

I'll carry a box. Becca, could you pick that up from Stevie as well please... if it's good to go Stevie?
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Ah, cancel that, going to have to give it a miss. Just picked up a cold and feel a bit shit, plus I've got a sore knee from too much skating recently and I really ought to give it a rest. Bummer, I was looking forward to that but I think I'll be sensible for once. Have a good one.

I've just looked at the weather forecast, and it's too dodgy for me to risk a 2 hour drive for it. I don't want to drive all the way there, then the unmentionable happens, so I'm afraid I'm going to bail. Sorry if that means it goes ahead without music (I'll be quite gutted if that happens), but it's just too far to travel when the chance of the you-know-what is so high.

Probably the right choice... it had dried up here in Shoreditch but has just got all wet again!

Roads are dry again in Shoreditch... but it doesn't look good for later.

Hi Folks

The skate is cancelled, rained off I'm afraid :(

Could an admin edit the main title please as Markus can't get to a computer to edit it.
Thanks

Thanks Ben

It's been a really hard call, the roads are drying out west, but the radar says more on the way :(

That was a surprisingly early call given the radar this morning. It looked like it might be touch and go, but with a good chance of being fine. Whatever happened to the policy of calling it late when it was touch and go?

Bollocks it does. It has been crystal clear all day that the whether would clear and stay fine. It was only a question of whether it would clear in time or not. Now it transpires it has. Was it you that made the call?

Errr, the call was made late (supposed to be 11am but was made after 12.30).
All the weather sites I can see say it will rain this afternoon... some heavy.

It wasn't my call (I have nothing to do with the LFNS appart from skating it) but I have to say I do agree with it.

I got confused over the post times on here. The time stamp for each post is an hour behind.
