Every other Thursday I'm going to be leading a new type of skate.
The idea is we will skate over to a location, then spend 30mins or so practicing a skill, then move on somewhere else. The street sections will be similar to the NTNTWNS, but then broken up with skill sessions.
It will not just be skills though, I'll try and get some bulldog going and other fun things like that.
A lot of people I've talked to, have said that while they spend a lot of time skating, they are mostly just doing streetskates or suicides and they never really work on their skills and their ability has just plateaued, myself included.
I did a small one of these last week, we skated over to Milennium bridge, did some stair riding, from real beginners to more advanced levels. Then spent the rest of the night doing a more normal suicide. It was a very small group but worked out pretty well.
All I'm going to ask for is if anyone has any skills they want to share, please stick your hand up! Whether it's slides, slalom, skating backwards, stairs, or anything else you know and are happy to share please get involved. I'm happy to organise and lead these and do most of the work but I'm going to run out of material pretty quickly without some assistance The first one will be starting at Liverpool St, 8pm at Bishopsgate entrance. May 2nd
You will need to be comfortable completing a Wednesday or Friday skate, and have at least some experience skating unmarshalled.
We will have some fast bits but I want this to be inclusive (hey we all have to start somewhere!) so will wait for people within reason. We will make it pretty clear where we are going to make our next stop, so people should also be able to catch us up if needed.
If anyone want's to bring out their asbox that would be wicked.
For this one, I was thinking,
Liverpool St > Canary Wharf
Practice Slide Session
Canary Wharf > Barbican
Barbican > Brick Lane Car Park
Car Park > Liverpool St
Finish and to the PUB!
For anyone seeing "slides" and "Jumps", do not be scared. The idea is these will be for beginners (to jumps etc, not complete
gumbies) too, so we will be going to areas where you can just jump over tiny obstacles and build up. But also will have some larger furniture for bigger tricks. And I will do my best to walk people through it.
Hope to see some of you out

Please feel free to give me feedback/suggestions, this is a new idea and I'm new to leading it so it's all apprecaited, and I'm sure it will take awhile to get the formula right...!
