I shall try to get out from home again then...

I haven't skated for a month!!! I am still looking for excuses not to come out, but my bottom is getting quite saggy... Please slow down for me tonight? Please....

Are there any girls skating tonight? I am not a sexist, but I may feel a bit easy knowing the fact that I can't keep up for more than 3 minutes.

LOL but you are suggesting girls are slower? (I know I am)

Well this slow old one is not doing the suicide becasue she also hasn't skated for a month...I'd break if I tried, knees and ankle need a more gentle re-introduction to skating (so I'll skate to the pub tonight instead  )

I should be out next wed though Maki

Well, apart from girls who have rather too short X chromosome, that is the case. (I am just making boys feel better about themselves. :P )

Oh noooo...... Its boys challenge tonight. Adrian will be there too.... Please boys DO NOT clean bearings!!! Instead, swap with the ones from Argos for me...
Mozza, please keep me company....

Where are girls???

I am hoping boys have massive blubber belly (so they can't skate fast) to keep me company :)

It was my fastest record of all time! 8) I really bailed in 3 minutes in covent garden...

I gathered that I was better off being dropped out in the early stage rather than in a middle of nowhere anyways... Still I have to get my body back. Its so serious.

LOL-well thats three more minutes than me!

I manage to skate from finsbury park to st katherines docks instead....took me an hour, I am embarrasingly unfit (ok maybe I had to stop every 5 mins cos I kept getting lost but still...an hour to skate only 6 miles!)

So I tried to do a suicide skate again after months with almost no skating.

I almost died a couple of times.

1st warning:
Going down a very steep street in Highgate, I was faster than the car in front so I was going to overtake it on the outside lane (probably going at around 50km/hour) but didn't see the bus coming the other way, so jump onto the curb still at full speed but they was a car coming from the street on the left and was blocking me the way, I managed to dodge the car and the lampost to end up on that left street. It was a very close call.

2nd warning:
I knew I was unfit, but I didn't expect Sparky, Owain, Duracell and Sam to actually drop me behind and I got lost god knows where. By that time I had cramps on both my legs and was unable to actually skate at all.
So I managed to skate to Bank and took the bus back to Marble Arch. But When I say that, I mean Grabbing onto a bus and let him pull me along. Everynow and then, I skated off to the next bus in front, but everytime I did that, my legs had cramps again, so I simply stayed with the same bus almost all the way. I almost died of exaustion!
Driving form the Vic to Rick's, I was trying really hard to not fall asleep and stay on the road.

What are the lessons learned:
1) Training is clearly not for me
2) It's fun to go downhill but be careful of traffic
3) I prefer downhills than uphills
4) Busses are good to grab, but they stop far too often
5) I must try and value my life more

Conclusion: I am most likely to be out again next Wednesday!
