Some help?

Postby jefit » Tue May 08, 2012 8:01 pm

Hello all, i recently came upon a pair of skates that i bought some years ago without knowing too much about skating. They are roces and only have a small label printed Melbourne on the back. So what im asking is if some of you may be able to further identify them if at all possible?

This: http://www.skates.com/Roces-Melbourne-skates-p/rmel.htm picture and description was about all i could find when i searched roces melbourne into google.

So if any of you can help me further identify them or have any input at all, it is much appreciated, thanks.

No where near 95 tbh, I got them 2-4 years iirc

i should have probably mentioned that the picture i posted is what they look like, sorry about that.

the only thing id say that these two have in common is the fact they they both have melbourne printed on the shell somewhere.

After a ton of searching, i was able to find this:

and this:

They appear to be really similar to Roces Lax (or at least that's what they say they are), but instead has a different frame, liner, and says "MEL" instead of "LAX" on them.

They'd be a pretty good skate, very supportive, and you could swap the (stepped) frames over for something better. They're from the days before the crappy soft-boot shells started to hit the shelves.

Ah okay, that's really nice to hear. i probably will switch the frames once i can, because the current ones that came with them have these little bridges between the axles, not really allowing me to use a bigger wheel setup.

Okay, one more question. Are all stepped frames the same? As in step height? Not sure if I'm wording that correctly or not... :?
